39.- MARCH 27 MUMBAI INDIA

INDIA, is only about 1/3 the size of Europe, yet its population is over 1 billion people- 1/6 of the worlds population. More religions are practiced on a larger scale in Indian than in any other nation. Hinduism is the main faith, but there are also ZOROASTRIANS, MOSLEMS, JAIN, BUDDHISTS, SIKHS and JEWS.

MUMBAI,Derives from bom baia, meaning "good bay".(It used to be BOMBAY)
It was built on seven islands by BACK BAY. With 18 million people is the nation’s financial center.

This morning, we disembarked the ship and drove to MUMBAI Airport. My beloved and avid photographer does not waste any time and took some pictures from inside the bus.

BACK BAY the biggest harbor in the world.

Street vendors promoting spices.

We experienced very heavy traffic during the day.
VICTORIA TRAIN STATION: With a train coming in every 5 minutes, they transport ONE MILLION passengers every 24 hours!!

Stately old Victorian buildings over 100 years old remnants of the Brithis colony.

Portugese architecture still prevail from the times MUMBAI was occupied by the Portugese.
